Description
GIGABAYTE GeForce RTX 3060 EAGLE 12G
The majority of gamers who will be playing in 1080P will be satisfied by the RTX 3060’s continued power. The RTX 3060 improves on the ray-tracing performance of the RTX 2060, which is already a good card for 1080P gaming, by using new 2nd-generation RT cores and 3rd-generation Tensor cores. Although the ray-tracing performance of 1080p on high settings is really impressive, the RTX 3060’s limited RT and Tensor cores on the GA106-300-A1 prevent it from reaching its full potential.
Compared to the RTX 3060 Ti’s 4,864 active CUDA cores, the RTX 3060 has 3,584. There is also a significant bandwidth gap due to the Ti’s bigger 256-bit bus compared to the RTX 3060’s smaller 192-bit bus. The amount of memory is another factor. Nvidia decided to include 12GB of GDDR6 RAM with the RTX 3060. That much is lacking, not even with the magnificent GeForce RTX 3080(opens in new tab)!
While we are pleased that the RTX 3060 has extra RAM, you have to question if Nvidia lost a trick by leaving out more on the more expensive versions that could really benefit from it.
