The Intel Core i5-11400, which is part of the Rocket Lake family, is a shockingly low-cost and nimble CPU with six cores and 12 threads for $182, or $157 for the graphics-less F-series edition. Surprisingly, AMD lacks a current processor to compete with the 11400, so it must rely on AMD’s two-year-old $199 Ryzen 5 3600, which isn’t competitive in gaming. This results in a one-sided war, with Intel dominating the entry-level PC gaming market and the Core i5-11400 gaining a slot on our Best CPUs list.
