Description

XPG GAMMIX D20 8GB 3200 CL16 The Dual Channel kit comes in a sleek red box with a front-facing picture of the module. There are two cutouts on the back of the box that give you a preview of what you’re going to open. Obviously, it’s there to let you know its dual-channel, or to make sure no models are missing from the kit.

Because it is merely a RAM kit, there is no instruction pamphlet included. If you’re not sure how to install them, take your system to a store. By writing all the instructions and warranty information on the inside of the box, XPG has saved on waste packaging.

XPG GAMMIX D20 8GB 3200 The heatsinks are matte black with a textured XPG logo in the middle. The silver logo stands out against the dark background. They are low profile since XPG is looking for a sleek and stealthy look with these. This dual-channel kit adds some subtle complexity in the form of cuts and perforation, and would look fantastic in a monochrome colour scheme. The RAM package comes in two colours: black and grey, and each module measures 133.35 x 34 x 6.5mm for those interested in dimensions.

RGB haters will be relieved to learn that the XPG GAMMIX D20 DDR4 Dual Channel kit is RGB-free.

Now that we know the colour selections, let’s look at the capacity alternatives. Depending on how much RAM you require, there is a kit available in 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB. Naturally, deciding between dual channel and single channel will influence the kit you choose. A minimum of 16GB is required for a dual-channel system (2x8GB).

The speeds for these modules begin at 3200MHz and increase to 4133MHz. So, unlike some of the most famous brands, there is no low-balling below 3000MHz. 3200-3600MHz is now regarded the sweet spot for gaming, although it is also a matter of opinion.

I could get the 3600MHz kit in order to evaluate the mid-range price point for a 16GB dual-channel kit. The CL of the GAMMIX D20 kits is 18 and the working voltage is 1.35. For a complete overview of the range, see the table below.
